Recently I found a solid colored silk crafting ribbon. And I thought, "how nice" and then I saw the price tag...$40 per 100g. That is just so wrong. Then I had some made for you Darn Good Yarn-ers.

Beautiful silk (and sometimes the ever-versatile rayon) ~.5-.75 inch thick ribbons sewn together will create some fantastic pieces for you. Every 12-14 inches of length a new piece of fabric is introduced and sewn to its neighbor. That $40 stuff just tied the ends together!

Per Skein: 100g/ 46 yards. Knitting with it? Try 15's or something larger for loopiness. Making a scarf? Try 1-2 skeins. The colors are painstakingly matched and dyed to create a nice flow on continuous color while getting that fun look that recycled yarns can offer you!

It's created by the collection of silk remnants of saris in the truing and trimming of fabric during the manufacturing process.

SAVE THE WORLD! You'll note with this blend of silk sari ribbon, some of the edges are not finished but that's the point of the yarn because it's reclaimed and upcycled...and saved from landfills half a world away!
